About the Position
Fortress's Commercial Real Estate ("CRE") Asset Management group seeks a highly motivated Portfolio Analyst. This candidate will provide support for the monthly book and valuation process, portfolio reporting, risk analytics, and various analytical tools for Senior Management. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, proactive and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and superb organization, communication, and time management skills are required.
Responsibilities Include
  • Ensure accurate cash flows for portfolio reports through a collaborative effort with Asset Managers, Analysts, and Accountants. Perform variance analysis and identify trends and themes as they relate to variances.
  • Coordinate periodic reports and track reports that go to Senior Management.
  • Answer valuation and assumption inquiries associated with the monthly valuation pricing process.
  • Coordinate quarterly marking review and annual audit activities.
  • Maintain data integrity within quarterly investor letters and the annual investor conference.
  • Support the analysis of investment track record calculations.
  • Work closely with the Business Analyst to support the Asset Management system and maintain financial models.
  • Assist with special projects for Senior Management, including gathering data, spreading numbers, formulating analytics, and explaining trends and results.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to streamline portfolio reporting processes, enhance data validation, and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining AI-driven dashboards, analytical models, and reporting tools to support portfolio monitoring and senior management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate AI use cases, improve data workflows, and ensure responsible use of AI in reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with the implementation of new policies and procedures for the Asset Management group.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, business analytics, real estate, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of finance, accounting, real estate investment management, or related internship experience.
  • Familiarity with key concepts in finance, real estate, and reporting is a plus.

Additional Skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, with advanced knowledge of other Microsoft Office products.
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with data management/mining and prior experience working on database analysis.
  • Strong track record of delivering accurate and timely information and reports.
  • Superb organization, communication, and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
