Position Summary

The Media Performance Strategist is responsible for improving media performance through stronger measurement, analysis, and optimization. This role combines handsโ€‘on knowledge of paid media platforms with technical expertise in analytics, tagging, and reporting systems to help the Media Team understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what actions should be considered next.

Working closely with the Media Director, Media Team, website developers, and other internal disciplines, this role helps ensure campaigns are structured for effective measurement, performance data is reliable, and reporting leads to meaningful recommendations.

Primary Focus

The Media Performance Strategist is responsible for the accurate setup, maintenance, and reporting of marketing data across Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, dashboard, and advertising platforms.

This role will manage the agencyโ€™s marketing measurement and reporting systems and requires strong technical knowledge of analytics, tagging, dashboards, and paid media platforms, with a primary focus on data accuracy, system functionality, and consistent reporting.

Responsibilities

Measurement, Analytics & Reporting (60%)

Manage end-to-end tracking infrastructure, including UTMs, GA4 and GTM, ensuring accuracy through regular testing and troubleshooting.

Monitor data systems for consistency, proactively resolving discrepancies and upholding naming conventions and reporting standards.

Document analytics configurations, processes, and QA protocols to maintain operational consistency.

Serve as the primary internal resource for analytics, tracking, and reporting inquiries including ensuring data across analytics, advertising, CRM, and other marketing channels are accurate and aligned.

Manage, maintain and scale marketing dashboards, integrating blended data across advertising, CRM and analytics platforms. Be responsible for dashboard data connections, calculated metrics, templates, permissions, and ongoing maintenance.

Paid Media Capabilities (40%)

Collaborate with the Media Team to structure campaigns and implement tracking for effective performance measurement.

Create and maintain accurate clientโ€‘facing reports.

Analyze campaign data to provide contextโ€‘driven recommendations that optimize media performance.

Setup digital paid media campaigns as needed to support the media team.

Stay updated on platform changes, privacy requirements, and measurement best practices to guide strategy.

Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with clients, vendors, and crossโ€‘functional teams.

Qualifications

3โ€“5 years of digital analytics, marketing measurement, and paid media experience, preferably in an agency setting.

Proficient in managing Google Analytics 4 (properties, reporting, administration) and Google Tag Manager (tags, triggers, troubleshooting).

Experienced with marketing dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., TapClicks, MCI) including data blending, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.

Handsโ€‘on experience with advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft, DSPs) and data management systems like CRMs is preferred.

Strong technical skills in Excel/Google Sheets.

Deep understanding of conversion tracking, attribution, and channel reporting methodologies.

Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to independently troubleshoot technical reporting issues and communicate complex information to nonโ€‘technical stakeholders.
