On behalf of our financial services client, we are seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) contractor to support a multi-year digital transformation initiative modernizing their public web ecosystem, content platforms, and customer experiences.


Embedded within the MarTech Planning & Enablement Team (Delivery Track), you will serve as the critical bridge between business stakeholders, marketing teams, analytics SMEs, product managers, and technology partners. Over the next 12 months, your primary focus will be driving business requirements for tagging, data layer architecture, measurement, reporting, and tracking while creating development-ready epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.


Reporting Structure & Key Partners


  • Reports to: MarTech Planning & Enablement Manager
  • Key Partners: Marketing Site Owners, Product Managers, Analytics & Data SMEs, MarTech Teams, Solution Architects, Engineering, QA/UAT Teams, and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities


Requirements Gathering & Delivery Support


  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business objectives, measurement needs, and reporting goals into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering workshops and working sessions across marketing, technology, and analytics.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, requirements clarification, and defect triage in support of Agile/SAFe teams.
  • Maintain end-to-end traceability from business objectives through to technical implementation and testing.

Tagging, Data Layer & Measurement


  • Lead the documentation and coordination of analytics, tagging, and data layer requirements across web experiences.
  • Collaborate with Analytics and MarTech teams to define tracking strategies, data dictionaries, measurement plans, and tagging specs.
  • Ensure client journeys, conversion goals, and performance metrics are accurately captured in technical requirements.
  • Validate that tracking requirements are fully integrated into development, QA/UAT testing, and release readiness.

Stakeholder Alignment & Governance


  • Serve as the functional liaison between Marketing, Product, Engineering, Experience Design, Analytics, and Compliance.
  • Identify risks, cross-team dependencies, and system impacts to keep delivery timelines on track.
  • Establish consistent documentation and governance practices for performance tracking and reporting.

Qualifications


Required Experience:


  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or Digital Product Delivery Specialist.
  • Strong expertise writing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data requirements.
  • Hands-on experience supporting delivery in Agile and/or SAFe environments.
  • Demonstrated history working with digital marketing platforms, web redesign initiatives, CMS, or customer experience (CX) ecosystems.

Technical & Tooling Expertise:


  • Analytics & Tagging: Direct experience with Adobe Analytics, Tealium, Google Analytics, Tag Management Systems (TMS), Data Layers, and client/server-side tracking methods.
  • Agile Management Tools: Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence.
  • Visual & Collaboration Tools: Miro, Figma, Excel.
  • Technical Fundamentals: Understanding of API integrations, web data flows, system interactions, and metadata/taxonomy governance.
