Job description

This position is in a Regional, Subregional or Resident Office of the National Labor Relations Board.
This position is responsible for the supervision of the investigation and handling of representation cases (R cases) of average complexity and a variety of unfair labor practices cases (C cases) which may range from simple to average complexity.

IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT
The ideal candidate for the Supervisory Labor Management Relations Examiner (Supervisory Investigator) position will have experience processing cases on all levels of difficulty and complexity. The candidate has extensive knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act. Excellent communication and analytical skills desired. Meticulous attention to detail is preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Supervisory Labor Management Relations Examiner (Supervisory Investigator), at the GS-15 grade level.
Specialized experience includes:
  • Experience communicating, both orally and in writing, authoritative labor law policy matters to agency-level stakeholders to justify and defend information; and
  • Experience with the National Labor Relations Board Act and similar statutes to negotiate and prepare collective bargaining agreements, including the application of complex Board and court precedent, statutory interpretation, and advanced labor relations principles; and
  • Experience planning, coordinating, establishing, and managing complex project goals and objectives leading a team involved in the investigation and analysis of the most complex issues related to the field of labor law.
