Job description

Labor Relations Costing Specialist (Senior)

The Boeing Company's Corporate Labor Relations organization is looking for a Senior Labor Relations Costing Specialist to join our dynamic team.The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience in the areas of data analytics, financial analysis, HR acumen and project management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Incumbent will be responsible for owning the labor relations costing model and costing process, to shape the strategic process of calculating the total financial cost of labor agreements, including wages, benefits, paid time off, and other indirect costs.

  • Partner with labor relations and total rewards stakeholders throughout the collective bargaining lifecycle, supporting the preparation of the economic strategy before bargaining, travel for on-site support and rapidly modeling scenarios during the negotiation process, and providing key insights upon the conclusion of negotiations.

  • In collaboration with other key stakeholders, work to continuously improve and refine the costing model and contingency planning models.

  • Gather, integrate, and analyze data from the site/functional/local Finance, business, HR, and Labor team, then communicate the results in order to facilitate key decisions before, during, and after union negotiations.

Other aspects of job duties will include:

  • Design and deliver executive-level presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint: synthesize complex data into clear narratives, craft executive summaries, and produce high-quality visuals (charts, infographics).

  • Identify potential issues that could impact the business and/or skill teams across the Enterprise while providing solutions and recommendations by interpreting, analyzing and integrating applicable internal,external data, and metrics.

  • Engage in additional labor relations activities as needed to support the enterprise LR function, including support of Work Environment Assessments and other Workforce Strategy projects and initiatives.

  • Develop and leverage key strategic relationships to participate in the up-front business planning, strategy and consultation process to proactively identify potential issues that could impact the business and/or skill teams across the Enterprise.

  • Support other key initiatives or special projects within the Labor organization working with cross functional HR partners and key business stakeholders.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with collecting and interpreting data

  • 5+ years of experience with performing data manipulation of data within Excel (e.g. develop and input formulas, calculate values from a dataset)

  • Willing and capable to travel up to 40% of the time

  • Executive-level presentation development and delivery using Microsoft PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 5: 10or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 1+ years of experience within Human Resources

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Human Resources certification

  • 1+ years of experience developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders

  • Experience in a role that required organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, facilitate, and orchestrate multiple actions

  • Experience working independently and with a team

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with legal, skill teams, unions, recruiting, strategic workforce planning, talent management, compensation, payroll, H.R. metrics/analytics and labor relations
