Job description

Overview:

Job Summary

*** Operating on a 14/14 schedule, MUST HAVE 10+ years of Heavy Avionics Experience  ***

The EC145 Tiger Team AMT will work with two other technicians in two group, each responsible for covering half of the EC145 bases. The primary focus of this role is to provide direct support for EC145 maintenance, ensuring aircraft readiness and reliability. This role is responsible for assisting in all performing aircraft maintenance, including planning maintenance efficiently and effectively to maximize aircraft availability while demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the General Maintenance Manual (GMM) and Air Methods’ policies and procedures. The EC145 Tiger Team AMT will ensure operational goals and objectives are met, while guaranteeing all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals. Provide timely on call availability during nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary. 

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • AOG Response: Rapidly deploy to assist with EC145 Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events as needed.
    • Perform inspections and repairs of aircraft and components in accordance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
    • Ensure all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals to include specific chapters. 
    • Will conduct on sight technical and safety audits, to correct and report inconsistencies to your area manager and RMM/RMD.
    • Upon installation or removal of any component or assembly, the Mechanic shall verify by physical inspection or markings on the part that the part number and serial number match the associated documentation (Status Report, if item is tracked), Parts Tag, 8130-3, 337, or any other maintenance release.
    • Request aviation parts and supplies in order to maintain an adequate and orderly inventory of all stock items to ensure prompt repairs for operational readiness. 
    • Actively participates in the continuous improvement phase (level 4) of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and is familiar with the SMS policies, processes, and procedures.
    • Maintain work area in a clean and professional manner.
    • Responsible for advising the Pilot in Command (PIC) of any maintenance issues that would take an aircraft out of service.
    • Responsible for correcting compliance or safety issues when directed by the Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance, Chief Pilot, Regional Maintenance Director, Director of Safety, Regional Maintenance Manager, or Lead Mechanic.
    • Actively participate in the continuous improvement phase (level 4) of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and is familiar with the SMS policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Develop Hangar Plans outlining routine base visits scheduled at least bi-annually to each assigned base, performing VARTOMS adjustments, track and balance, and essential maintenance tasks.
  • Technical Expertise & Best Practices: Develop and share best practices, operational recommendations, and formal guidance to enhance maintenance efficiency and aircraft longevity. 
    • Provide recommendations on best practices for maintaining 145s.
    • Give recommendations to the Aviation team on any operational changes that would benefit 145 ISR
    • Develop formal guidance to share with 145 AMTs at bases on tips/tricks/TLC for the 145s.
  • Heavy Maintenance Support: Provide assistance with EC145 heavy maintenance events when base schedules permit.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Flexible Deployment:  This role will work within a structured rotation to ensure consistent coverage, with at least two team members available at all times.
  • Regular scheduled attendance 14 on 14 off / Travel on day prior to shift and day after last shift.
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling - 100%

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.           

Qualifications:

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must possess advanced experience and skill on EC145 model aircraft to include the following:
  • Advanced verifiable experience with EC145 VARTOMS system to include rigging and adjustment.
  • Refined track and balance skills.
  • Experience with Engine module replacements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AMC part 145 and 135 maintenance requirements and procedures

Skills

  • Electrical troubleshooting and refined vibration-balancing
  • Sheet metal and composite repair procedures
  • Ability to read and understand various documents such as 337’s, Service Bulletins, AD’s, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to be a team player with a professional attitude
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime and 24/7 on-call rotation

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 
  • RAMCO experience preferred 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • FAA A&P License in good standing.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Preferred
