AMP is looking for a VP of Engineering to lead the technology function of the company. This role will be managing a diverse team of software, robotics, mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure engineers and contractors. You will work closely with our CTO, CEO, and executive team to own, define, and execute on our product roadmap and strategy.
Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Leadership
  • Define and execute AMP's technology vision, strategy, and roadmap in support of the company's commercial and strategic objectives.
  • Align engineering teams around clear priorities, goals, and measures of success while maintaining accountability for results.
  • Balance short-term business needs with long-term technology investments to maximize company impact.

Organizational Leadership
  • Lead and scale AMP's engineering organization across Facility Engineering, R&D, and Software Infrastructure.
  • Build a high-performing culture known for quality, innovation, responsiveness, efficiency, and predictable execution.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain exceptional engineering talent and leaders.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams spanning software, artificial intelligence, hardware, systems integration, manufacturing, and operations.

Product Development & Execution
  • Drive execution of hardware, software, and systems engineering programs, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products and capabilities.
  • Establish engineering best practices, quality systems, and operating processes that support reliable deployments and scalable growth.
  • Ensure technology investments and roadmaps are aligned with customer needs, operational requirements, and business priorities.

Cross-Functional & Business Leadership
  • Partner with the executive team to shape and operationalize AMP's technology strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Commercial, Product, and Customer teams to accelerate execution and deliver business value.
  • Own engineering budgets, resource planning, capital investments, and technology portfolio prioritization.
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics across engineering, product delivery, quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate technology risks and opportunities, making decisions that balance innovation, execution, scalability, and financial performance.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience in hardware-centric product organizations, including 4+ years at the Senior Director, VP, or equivalent executive level.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations of 30+ engineers and technical leaders across hardware, software, systems, and operations.
  • Proven track record of delivering products and technology programs that create measurable business value.
  • Experience leading multiple product launches in fast-paced, agile environments.
  • Hands-on leadership across the full product lifecycle, including architecture, development, program management, quality, deployment, and operations.
  • Demonstrated success building high-performing teams, scalable engineering processes, and a culture of accountability and execution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with high emotional intelligence and the ability to influence across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, balancing innovation, technical debt, delivery commitments, and long-term investments. Strategic technology leader who connects engineering investments to business outcomes.
  • Strong operator with experience in budgeting, capital allocation, and portfolio prioritization.
  • Builder of high-performing organizations and leadership teams.
  • Customer- and business-oriented executive who balances innovation, operational excellence, and financial discipline.
  • Comfortable making high-impact decisions and influencing executives, customers, investors, and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building, operating, or supporting manufacturing facilities enabled by internally developed technology.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Cloud Infrastructure
