Job description

Our company is looking for a highly motivated, self-starting technician to fill an opening in our Nashville, TN location. Our company specializes in boiler and boiler related equipment sales, service and repair, with offices in Georgia and Tennessee. The position classification within our company is that of Service Technician. Below is a list of the duties, responsibilities amp; required qualifications necessary to be considered for employment.
Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  1. Troubleshoot and service malfunctioning boilers, boiler related equipment and controls.
  2. Check and tune-up combustion and control settings on boilers amp; boiler related equipment.
  3. Prepare boilers for inspection.
  4. Mechanical amp; electrical installation of boilers, boiler related equipment and controls.
  5. Prepare and Start-Up existing boilers at customerโ€™s location for the heating season.
  6. Perform Start-Up responsibilities on newly installed boilers, boiler related equipment and controls.
  7. Perform and complete minor amp; finish electrical connections and runs.
  8. Perform and complete minor amp; finish Pipefitting amp; Plumbing (To include brazing of copper piping) projects.
  9. Assist Boilermakers with repair and installation of boiler tubes and refractory.
  10. Prepare, complete, and return all required documentation for job completion.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
  12. Reasonable, reliable attendance.

Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Combustion analysis experience preferred.
  3. 2โ€3 years relevant experience in service, repair and/or mechanical operations
  4. Must have a valid driver's license
  5. Knowledge in boiler service, repair and/or operations desirable, but not required
  6. Past experience and knowledge in pump amp; motor service, operation and maintenance desirable, but not required
  7. Plumbing amp; electrical trade certifications desirable, but not required
  8. Past pipefitting and/or plumbing experience desirable, but not required
  9. Knowledge in the operation and use of computers and computer operated boiler controls is desirable, but not required
  10. Minor welding and oxygen cutting ability amp; experience is a plus and desirable, but not required

Physical amp; Personal Requirements:
  1. Ability to lift 50lbs + from floor to waist and waist to above head
  2. Able to climb and use a ladder, forklift amp; scissor lift
  3. Ability to stand for 6+ hours a day
  4. Ability to work in varying temperatures (Hot amp; Cold)
  5. Ability to work a rotating On-Call schedule
  6. Successfully pass a drug test and background check
  7. Efficient, organized amp; the willingness to adapt to change
  8. Ability to selfโ€direct, with reasonable, reliable attendance
  9. Good communication and customer service skills
  10. Problem solving skills with a โ€œCan/Will Doโ€ attitude
