Function in the Job:

Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Verifies stock to work order requirements (alloy, temper, gauge, size, producer, lot no, and grain direction)
  • Sets up saw
  • Cuts and verifies parts are within customer required tolerances using micrometer and caliper instruments
  • Marks each part with customer required identification
  • Labels and marks each remnant per AMI rem policy
  • Stamps work orders with quality issued inspection stamp as required by Q.C. manual
  • Performs daily maintenance checks of metal saw and completes check list
  • Performs weekly maintenance per schedule
  • Performs daily housekeeping of work area
  • Coordinates pick up of scrap metal containers
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures
  • Operated forklift and overhead crane, as required
  • Performs in process and final inspection of parts
  • Participate in TQM and SPC meetings as required
  • In smaller facilities, may perform additional duties such as physical receiving and packing
  • May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time

Required Skills:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

REASONING ABILITY: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred

OTHER ABILITIES: Ability to work irregular hours
