Key clientele includes automotive companies, tier one and tier two auto suppliers, major steel producers, and public and private utilities.
Job DescriptionPosition Summary & Objective
Machinist II is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision components used in hydro turbines and complete turbine assemblies. This role involves interpreting engineering drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, and ensuring all parts meet strict quality and safety standards. The machinist monitors machine performance, makes necessary adjustments, and performs inspections to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Working closely with engineering and production teams, the CNC Machinist helps ensure reliable, high-quality turbine components are delivered on schedule.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding of geometric tolerancing
  • Able to make all but the most complex component set ups on large VBM's
  • Able to edit programs for VBM's
  • Able to make all but the most complex components set ups on large HBM's
  • Keep Supervisor informed of problems regarding work piece, schedule, safety, etc. as they arise
  • Able to edit programs for HBM's
  • Cleans up sweepings of machine tool operation scrap and collects in scrap/trash bins
  • Able to set up feeds, speeds and judge cutter/insert condition to optimize machining operation for meeting surface finish and productivity

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
