Job description

To support this, Amazon is seeking an exceptional and strategic individual contributor to serve as a Principal Program Manager for WW WHS Central Programs.

In this role, you will own the delivery of our most complex, highest-impact safety projects while driving critical business operations processes across the global WHS organization.
This role uniquely combines two critical functions: (1) leading the execution of Amazon's largest and most complex safety projects with budgets ranging from $10M to $30M in capex, and (2) driving strategic business operations initiatives across the WHS leadership team, including goal-setting processes and safety roadmap alignment. You will be responsible for the most complex projects that deliver the highest safety entitlement across our network while ensuring organizational alignment and execution excellence across all WHS programs.
This Principal Program Manager will report to the Director of WHS Central Programs and work collaboratively across all Amazon Business Units to deliver innovative safety solutions and drive organizational effectiveness. You will interact regularly with Directors and VPs across WHS, Operations, Finance, and Engineering teams, serving as a trusted advisor and execution leader

This position requires travel up to approximately 20% for critical stakeholder meetings and project deployments.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Project Delivery & Execution
Own end-to-end delivery of Amazon WHS's most complex, high-capex projects that deliver the highest safety entitlement across the network, such as Load Quality technology
Lead multi-year, cross-functional engineering control projects including automation, ergonomic solutions, material handling equipment, and other large-scale solutions
Ensure projects deliver their planned safety entitlement on time and within budget across all Amazon business units and geographies
Drive execution excellence through rigorous program management, anticipating and mitigating risks before they impact delivery
WHS Business Operations & Strategic Initiatives
Own and drive business processes like the WHS goal-setting process, facilitating alignment meetings with VPs and Directors across the organization
Drive reporting and alignment processes for safety initiatives, ensuring clear line-of-sight from projects to safety outcomes
Serve as a strategic partner to WHS leadership on portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and organizational planning
Executive Stakeholder Management & Influence
Build and maintain strong relationships with Directors and VPs across WHS, Operations, Finance, and Engineering to ensure successful project adoption and sustained safety improvements
Influence senior leaders without direct authority to drive alignment across multiple business units and geographies with competing priorities
Performance Management & Strategic Reporting
Track and report on project delivery metrics including on-time delivery rate, capex plan adherence, and safety entitlement achievement
Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, business operations initiatives, risks, and mitigation plans
Develop insights from project and incident data to inform portfolio prioritization and strategic planning
