Job description

IAG1 is Launch Bonus Eligible. The bonus is $10,000 pre-tax.
Eligibility Criteria:
Must be located at a site outside of 50 miles from the launch site. This is determined by the distance from the candidate's home site to the launch site
Has not received another launch bonus within the current calendar year
Hired within 30 days of first receive (FR)
Collection of Funds: When a candidate accepts an offer with a bonus, it will be automatically paid out 3 weeks prior to their start date
There are certain situations in which the employee would need to pay back the launch bonus. In all cases the bonus will be prorated based on the time in service at the new launch site. These scenarios include:
If the candidate leaves Amazon voluntarily or involuntarily within 12 months of receiving the launch bonus.
If the candidate is demoted from the role voluntarily or involuntarily within 12 months of receiving the bonus.
If the candidate fails to start at the new site.
If the candidate chooses to laterally transfer to another site within 6 months of the launch.
Here at Amazon we are looking to hire an Hazmat Waste Coordinator to join the WHS team in one of our highly automated and fast paced Fulfilment Centers (FC).
Key Job Elements:
In this position, you are a contact partner between Operations and WHS departments. As a Hazmat waste coordinator, you will be employed across the FC. You will be the coordinator of internal Hazmat waste disposal, and be the point of contact for the optimization of the collections by our external partners. Support of internal pallet disposal, takeover of special tasks, and support the WHS department.
Responsibilities:
• Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out.
• Report to WHS and liaise with Waste Vendor and WHS during the coordination of the day-to-day waste management activities.
• React quickly to communicate clearly with affected departments and work efficiently to fix the issue.
• Support continuous improvement from learnings and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
• Verify the condition of waste containers and waste storage areas on a periodic basis.
• Coordinating Tier 1 AA who are hazmat trained for the different task related with the day-to-day activities (moving full carts, compacting activities, etc.) accordingly with the volume arising in the FC.
• Monitor quantities of hazmat waste generated on site and updated the waste inventory accordingly.
• Ensure hazmat waste classification is performed accordingly.
• Ensure record of hazmat waste generated and correct consignment documentation is adequately maintained and stored.
• Ensure escalation to operations Area Manager when problems arise from non-compliance with standard or when a regulator complaint arises.
• Support and learn from the WHS team members.
Shift Code (if available):
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- High school or equivalent
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience

The starting pay for this position is listed below including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, you are eligible for additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
