Job description

Warehouse & Logistics Manager

Job Description:

The Warehouse & Event Logistics Manager is a key leader within the Operations Department, responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations and event logistics. This role works closely with the Director of Operations and Assistant Director of Operations to ensure all catered events are executed efficiently and to the highest standards. Responsibilities include inventory management, warehouse operations, event production, staff scheduling, purchasing, equipment maintenance, and supervising Warehouse Associates and Event Drivers.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management

·         Oversee all warehouse operations and daily production activities.

·         Produce and manage event pull sheets and rental sheets for all company brands.

·         Maintain accurate inventory of:

o    China, Glassware, Linens Kitchen equipment, Furniture, Production assets

·         Ensure all company equipment, supplies, and inventory are secure, organized, properly stored, and maintained.

·         Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment, repairs, and replacements, reporting expenditures to the Asst Director of Operations or Director of Operations.

·         Develop and improve warehouse systems to increase organization, efficiency, inventory accuracy, and safe transportation of goods.

·         Ensure proper receiving, storage, and inventory tracking of all products and equipment.

·         Prepare weekly warehouse schedules, truck schedules, and shift assignments while maintaining labor cost goals.

·         Train new employees through hands-on instruction, shadowing, and mock training sessions.

·         Conduct ongoing quality checks to ensure accuracy and adherence to company standards.

·         Delegate responsibilities and provide leadership in a fast-paced environment.

 

Purchasing & Vendor Management

·         Coordinate liquor orders through approved vendors including Pantry Liquors, Total Wine, and ABC Liquors.

·         Source and order all non-alcoholic beverages, including water, soda, and juices.

·         Purchase dry goods and event supplies from vendors such as Cheney Brothers, Sysco, US Foods, Amazon, Sweet Flavor, and other approved suppliers.

·         Assist with beverage program management, sourcing, pricing, and product recommendations.

Equipment & Fleet Management

·         Oversee maintenance and functionality of all catering equipment, including:

o    Fryers, Convection/Cadco ovens, Ranges, Other production equipment

·         Ensure company vehicles, including refrigerated trucks, refrigerated vans, and dry trucks, are properly maintained and event ready.

Event Logistics

·         Coordinate warehouse production for all catered events.

·         Work closely with Operations, Culinary, and Sales to review:

o    Operations sheets, Pull sheets, Equipment needs, Vendor coordination, Transportation logistics

·         Supervise the pulling, packing, loading, unloading, return, and storage of all event equipment and food.

·         Ensure rental equipment is accurately tracked before and after events.

 

Quality & Compliance

·         Implement and maintain quality control procedures for warehouse operations, food storage, packaging, equipment, and transportation.

·         Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.

·         Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all food safety requirements.

·         Maintain professional appearance and conduct.

·         Respond quickly and effectively to operational challenges while maintaining composure under pressure.

·         Accurately track and document company credit card expenses and vendor invoices according to company policy.

·         Perform additional duties as assigned by executive leadership.

Required Qualifications

·         3–5+ years of warehouse, logistics, or operations management experience.

·         Catering, hospitality, or event industry experience strongly preferred.

·         Previous warehouse experience.

·         Previous leadership or supervisory experience.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

·         Experience with inventory management systems.

·         Strong knowledge of catering equipment and event logistics.

·         Ability to communicate effectively in English.

·         Ability to lift heavy objects and meet the physical demands of warehouse work, including standing for extended periods, climbing stairs, and loading/unloading equipment.

·         Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
