Job description

Are you an accomplished learning experience designer ready to shape the future of data center learning through human-centered design, emerging technology, and data-driven innovation across AWS's global Data Center Communities?
Our Learning Experience Design team is seeking a Senior Learning Experience Designer who moves beyond traditional instructional design and leads collaborative design-thinking workshops to ideate and create class leading hybrid learning programs.
In this role you will act as a strategist, technologist, and empathetic designer, partnering with cross-functional teams to build workforce development experiences that combine eLearning, instructor-led training, performance support, mentoring, coaching, and communities of practice.
This position requires consistent collaboration with Senior Leaders in Data Center Operations and other teams to design and deliver impactful learning solutions. You will consult with technical subject-matter experts, leverage AI and emerging technologies, and apply data-driven iteration to produce learning experiences that drive measurable business outcomes.
We are looking for a professional who designs and delivers innovative learning solutions at scale. The ideal candidate will have proven mastery of instructional design models, human-centered design & facilitation, multimedia production, and AI

You must be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, mentor fellow designers, and drive the future development roadmap. The ideal candidate demonstrates ownership of outcomes, thinks big about scalable solutions, dives deep into learning science and operational challenges, and maintains the highest standards while moving fast to meet business needs.
Key job responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy training materials aligned to a blended learning strategy including web-based, instructor-led training (ILT), remote ILT, hands-on practical, micro-learning, and performance support.
Facilitate workshops and apply human-centered design principles (empathy mapping, learner personas, journey mapping, and iterative prototyping) to create intuitive, inclusive, and engaging learning experiences.
Leverage generative and agentic AI for content creation, personalization, adaptive pathways, and rapid prototyping while critically evaluating outputs for accuracy, bias, and ethical standards.
Produce polished multimedia learning assets: video scripting and editing, compelling presentations, infographics, and interactive modules using industry-standard authoring tools (Articulate 360/Rise, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Synthesia)
Use learning analytics, engagement metrics, completion rates, performance data, and ROI measurement to iterate on designs, identify gaps, optimize experiences, and demonstrate business value.
Conduct needs analysis, performance gap analysis, and job-task analysis with stakeholders and SMEs to ensure solutions address real business problems.
Lead complex cross-functional projects with stakeholder management in matrixed environments, mentoring junior designers and raising the quality bar for design standards.
Design for scalability and longevity: create modular, evergreen learning architectures that adapt to evolving business needs across multiple geographies and languages.
Partner with cross-functional teams to solve business problems with a focus on understanding root causes and driving forward-looking learning solutions.
Communicate at all levels, including senior leadership across Global Data Center Operations and Data Center Communities.
A day in the life
Your day may begin reviewing learning analytics dashboards and iterating on a recently launched module based on completion and performance data. You'll spend time in strategic discussions with senior leaders from Data Center Operations and Customer Success teams to understand emerging capability gaps and translate them into a learning roadmap

Mid-morning might find you facilitating a design thinking workshop with subject-matter experts, empathy mapping the learner journey . After lunch, you'll prototype an adaptive learning experience leveraging AI-generated content, critically evaluating outputs for accuracy and bias before handing off to production. Your afternoon could involve scripting a video walkthrough for a complex technical procedure, reviewing a junior designer's storyboard, or collaborating with multimedia specialists on an immersive simulation.

Throughout the day, you're balancing strategic thinking with hands-on craft-ensuring that every learning experience you ship is measurable, scalable, inclusive, and genuinely moves the needle on workforce capability.
