Job description

Amazon's Ring is looking for a highly energetic, detail-oriented, customer-centric and technically-savvy Quality Assurance Engineer to test the E-commerce Websites and mobile applications of Ring. QAEs at Amazon are excellent individual contributors capable of understanding business requirements and converting them to QA understandable test cases, driving test execution and capturing errors. QAEs need to understand the application performance, functionality and dive deep on the various features and take ownership to drive issues/processes to closure. They are capable of dealing with ambiguity and meeting deadlines on releases. They should be adaptable to a dynamically changing work environment to suit customer needs. They also are responsible for building and maintaining automation for web and mobile applications.
Key job responsibilities
Key Job Responsibilities entail:
1. Understand business requirements and convert them into comprehensive, QA-understandable test cases and test plans ensuring adequate test coverage
2. Create, maintain, and execute test cases/suites for web and mobile applications (iOS/Android/Fire platforms), and analyze results
3. Build and maintain stable, reusable test automation for web applications and mobile apps
4. Drive test execution across multiple software releases, capturing and triaging errors effectively
5. Troubleshoot issues down to root cause and create detailed bug reports
6. Evaluate application performance and functionality; dive deep on features to identify risks and quality gaps
7. Prepare precise test completion reports for management to review and approve releases
8. Participate in test planning efforts and communicate status to stakeholders
9. Work as part of a team of experienced QA engineers testing multiple concurrent software releases
A day in the life
1. Building test strategies and test cases for releases/features
2. Building and maintaining automation test cases
3. Driving conversations and maintaining a good cross functional relationship with stakeholders and business partners
4. Deep dive on issues, investigate, report and drive issues to closure working with development and product owners
5. Read from logs, build documentation and be an active team player
6. Monitor release dashboards and ensure tickets are validated in different environments
7. Log accurate tickets, run functional, performance, load and other tests and document failures
8. Be an advocate for quality

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
