Job description

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer-Expert for a 200+ FTE technical development program supporting the Sponsor's Entitlement Programs as well as IdAM /ICAM, Authentication, Authorization, Attributes and Digital Policy Management. The Software Engineer will work with a large team of developers, software engineers and data engineers. The successful candidate will support continuity of our customer's mission by helping to modernize and implement industry standards while ensuring secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of IT systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • List daily duties and/or specific job responsibilities.
    • Manage the tasking of a small-medium size development team
    • Collaboratively work with leadership and architects on design, planning, statusing, and architecture
    • Collaborate with internal and external teams for integrations and tasking delivery
    • Comfort and familiarity in maintaining legacy applications
    • Experience in modernization of legacy applications
    • Ability to write custom scripts to install and configure code in EC2 instances
    • Experience leveraging Amazon Web Services
    • Experience creating RESTful API
    • Experience with spring boot
    • Develop Java and Angular (Typescript)
    • Comfort and familiarity designing and utilizing custom ETL methodology
    • Strong communication, design, and documentation skills
    • Strong time and workflow management skills
    • Comfort and familiarity in unit testing, peer code review, and automated testing techniques like Selenium (create, edit, maintain, execute)
    • Work within the parameters of Agile & Scrum methodologies
    • Willingness to mentor and teach developers' community best practices in a constructive fashion
    • Ability to methodically think through technical challenges in a collaborative team environment in order to provide technically sound solutions

Required Quals:
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must have experience in multiple programming languages (Java, spring boot, Angular (Typescript), and the Cloud / Amazon Web Services)
  • Full Stack Development
  • Prior experience developing solutions to satisfy customer requirements and specifications
  • Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, selenium, and Rundeck
  • Experiencing working in Command Line (RH Linux)

Desired Quals:
  • Understanding and knowledge with Identity and Accessibility development practices
  • Experience developing custom ETL
  • Experience utilizing ETL frameworks (NiFi, Camel, Airflow, etc)
  • Experience with automation methodologies like selenium
  • Experience with containerization and modular development
  • Familiarity with UI/UX Design
