Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Quality Control Engineer (QCE) to execute and support the Integrated Project Quality (IPQ) Program in the delivery of data centers. This role focuses on mechanical discipline quality control execution with specialized emphasis on mechanical equipment build quality and Off-Site Assembly (OSA) oversight. The Sr.

QCE will serve as the technical lead for day-to-day quality management activities and direct oversight of quality control vendors across OSA facilities in North America and on data center deployments across AWS build regions in North and South America (AMER).
As part of the Data Center Capacity Delivery (DCCD) organization, you will execute detailed technical quality control work, manage vendor performance, and ensure consistent implementation of IPQ standards across AWS building sites. The IPQ Mechanical Quality Control Engineer is hands-on, performing both field oversight and technical quality management. They will aid in establishing technical-program-focused quality control methodologies, drive standardization, and increase quality across all AWS building sites.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in mechanical quality control execution, program development and cross-functional collaboration

They must have a proven record of leading technical quality on large-scale critical infrastructure deployments, including progressive Quality Control, Installation Verification, Equipment Protection, and cost- and schedule-mitigating measures. This position requires excellence in a fast-paced environment and the ability to manage concurrent responsibilities while supporting parallel initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
* Provide technical field trade oversight for mechanical components and manage off-site prefabrication/assembly quality processes for the OSA program
* Lead root cause analysis for mechanical quality issues, coordinate corrective actions, and implement preventive measures
* Support IPQ implementation across multiple AMER sites, coordinate with construction teams, and manage quality milestone tracking
* Maintain quality control documentation, prepare weekly progress reports, and track quality metrics and KPIs within team-standard tooling and mechanisms
* Conduct routine mechanical quality inspections, verify installation compliance, and manage non-conformance resolution processes
* Directly oversee third-party vendor performance, conduct vendor meetings, and manage quality scorecard assessments
* Develop, and ensure alignment with, IPQ technical standards, review mechanical installation procedures, and validate compliance with AWS specifications
* Interface with Construction Management, Design Engineering, Commissioning and various stakeholders on technical quality execution
