Job description

Are you passionate about leveraging GenAI to simplify the builder experience and accelerate innovation at Amazon scale?
The GenAI Tools & Agentic Ecosystem team is on a mission to make AI agents a natural extension of every Amazon builder's workflow. We build the platforms that let teams create, publish, and discover AI skills and tool integrations - and we enable autonomous agents to tap into Amazon's vast internal ecosystem on behalf of builders. We are part of Amazon Software Builder Experience (ASBX), the organization that provides the tools and platforms every Amazon engineer uses to build, test, deploy, and operate software.
This is a rare opportunity to shape how thousands of engineers work with AI

As an SDE II, you will build the infrastructure layer that connects generative AI to the daily work of Amazon builders - from the APIs agents call, to the platforms teams use to ship new AI capabilities company-wide. If you want your code to multiply the productivity of thousands of engineers, this is the role.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and build scalable platform services for distributing AI skills, agents, and tool integrations to builders across Amazon
- Develop APIs and infrastructure that enable autonomous agents to securely access internal resources and systems
- Build benchmarking and prompt trace analysis systems that measure agent quality, identify regressions, and drive continuous improvement of AI capabilities
- Partner with teams across Amazon and AWS to onboard new AI capabilities and drive adoption across the builder ecosystem
- Deliver iterative improvements to production systems while driving long-term platform evolution.

Amazon.com, Inc., commonly known as Amazon, is an American multinational technology company. It was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 and initially started as an online marketplace for books. Amazon's primary business is its online retail platform, where customers can purchase a vast array of products, including electronics, clothing, books, home goods, and much more. The company offers a convenient and user-friendly shopping experience, with features such as fast shipping, customer reviews, and personalized recommendations. In addition to its e-commerce platform, Amazon has diversified its business into various other areas. Furthermore, Amazon has expanded into media and entertainment. It operates Prime Video, a streaming service that offers a wide range of movies, TV shows, and original content. Amazon Music provides a platform for streaming and purchasing digital music, while Audible offers audiobooks and other audio content.
