Job description

We are seeking an experienced technical leader to run our iM&A team. You will lead a team of individual contributors who support PE-backed portfolio companies through cloud migration, AI enablement, and IT transformation during M&A transactions. This includes defining strategies for IT separation and integration, driving generative AI adoption to accelerate post-acquisition value creation, and partnering cross-functionally with AWS account teams, Solutions Architects, and ProServe.
The role requires technical depth, executive presence, and comfort operating in fast-paced deal environments where timelines are compressed and stakeholder expectations are high

You will represent AWS in executive conversations with PE managing directors, operating partners, and portfolio company C-suites, positioning cloud and AI as enablers of their investment theses.
Key job responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of technical ICs focused on M&A-related cloud transformation and AI enablement engagements.
Serve as the primary AWS point of contact for PE firms executing platform acquisitions, add-ons, and carve-outs.
Define and execute strategies for IT separation, integration, modernization, and generative AI adoption within deal timelines.
Drive AI enablement initiatives, helping portfolio companies leverage Amazon Bedrock, generative AI, and ML services to create operational value post-acquisition.
Build and maintain executive relationships with PE operating partners, portfolio CTOs/CIOs, and M&A advisory firms.
Partner with AWS field teams to identify and qualify M&A-driven pipeline opportunities.
Represent AWS PE iM&A at industry events (e.g., IMN conferences) and in executive customer conversations.
Drive operational cadence including deal tracking, team prioritization, and reporting to PE leadership.
Scope customer engagements with clear objectives, success criteria, and cost optimization strategies leveraging the right architecture and AWS pricing models.
Coach and develop your team to deliver specialized workshops, AI enablement sessions, and platform briefings to portfolio company leadership.
About the team
The AWS Private Equity Business Development team partners with the largest PE firms globally to accelerate cloud adoption, AI enablement, and digital transformation across their portfolio companies. We work at the intersection of deal activity and technology, helping PE-backed businesses modernize infrastructure, adopt generative AI, and unlock operational value during acquisitions, carve-outs, and platform builds.
Our investment Mergers & Acquisitions (iM&A) team sits within this organization and focuses specifically on the technology challenges that arise during M&A events: IT separation, integration, migration under compressed deal timelines, and AI-driven value creation. We partner with PE operating teams, portfolio CTOs, and systems integrators to deliver outcomes aligned with deal theses.
