Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Cloud DevOps Engineer at GDIT. Tailor cutting–edge solutions to the unique requirements of our clients, prioritizing the end user experience while fostering career growth. As a Cloud DevOps Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter, supporting USSOCOM at Fort Liberty, NC.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a DevOps Cloud Engineer you will:

  • Manage distributed and managed services, automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services.
  • Tune systems for reliability and efficiency.
  • Guide and manage software releases for new features and support users through consolidation.
  • Perform administrative operations of server hardware and software.
  • Ensure system security and execute practices and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot system–related problems.
  • Remain current on operating systems, software analysis, technology developments, and applications.
  • Recommend future direction or projects to management.
  • Provide expertise and direction in development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance the operating system.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED Required Skills
  • 5+ years of IT and/or software experience.
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred).
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Participation in or leadership of agile development teams.
  • In-depth understanding of DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience with Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity or other continuous integration tools.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi/NSX‑T.
  • Experience with networking and related technologies (load balancing, DNS, SSL, firewalls, NAT, SDN).
  • Proficient with Git.
  • Experience in release management.
  • Experience supporting production systems using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Competent at high-technical systems engineering activities.
  • Excellent communication and briefing skills; shows tact; effective listening and follow-through.
  • Solid work ethic and ability to work in a mission-critical environment.
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work.
  • Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience.
Desired Skills
  • Experience in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and OpenStack.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Chef, Ansible, BOSH, or related automation/orchestration tools.
  • Experience with a PaaS such as Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk, or similar.
  • Experience working with DNS, NTP, SAML, OAuth 2, Active Directory.
  • Understanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics (Prometheus, New Relic, AppDynamics, Cacti, Graphite, ELK, Nagios, Ganglia, Splunk, Log Insight, Realize Operations, Datadog, etc.).
  • Background in Windows deployment, automation, and related technologies.
  • Experience with database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL) and messaging middleware (RabbitMQ).
Security Clearance Level
  • Active Top Secret clearance required to start and must be able to obtain TS/SCI.

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 – $184,000, based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
