Job description

Amazon Leo is launching satellite-based connectivity in 100+ countries. Every country launch requires integration across tax, accounting, disbursement, legal, trade, and core commerce - thousands of test cases, dozens of teams, months of sequential human work. This team operates in a high-velocity environment, adapting and extending Amazon's established first-mile and middle-mile logistics and accounting infrastructure while engineering new capabilities purpose-built for Kuiper's commerce platform, which is launching across 100+ countries.
The Inventory Accounting team owns the end-to-end platform responsible for tracking Kuiper hardware inventory procured by end customers and fulfilled through Amazon's first-mile and middle-mile logistics network, ensuring ledger accuracy and regulatory compliance

The team manages 40+ distinct accounting scenarios per country, encompassing inventory custody transitions across both forward fulfillment and reverse logistics flows.

*Tackle novel, ambiguous technical challenges at the intersection of artificial intelligence, large-scale distributed systems, and financial domain complexity, delivering production-grade solutions with high operational bar.
A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer (SDE II) on the Inventory Accounting team, you will own the design, development, and cross team collaboration of end-to-end e-commerce lifecycle systems, spanning requirements definition, implementation, financial configuration, test automation, and production validation

You will enable Amazon Kuiper to scale country and feature launches across 100+ global markets without proportional headcount growth, driving operational efficiency through engineering excellence.
