Job description

🚀 Protect Real Dollars at Scale — and Love Where You Work

📍 Role: Inventory Control Analyst (Amazon FBA)
📍 Location: San Diego, CA 92101 (Onsite at Symphony Towers)
💰 Compensation Range: $125,000–$150,000 DOE

At Luminize, we help brands win, and as one of the top 5 Amazon sellers in the US, we're looking for top performers to grow with us.

We're hiring a forensic-minded Inventory Control Analyst to own Amazon FBA reconciliation across thousands of SKUs. Our engineering team has already built the SP-API pipelines. We need someone to trace inventory from warehouse through FBA inbound, receiving, adjustments, returns, and removals, pinpoint where units fall out of the chain of custody, and drive corrective action. This is an ownership role, not a reporting role.

🎯 What You'll Be Doing

  • Own reconciliation of inventory moving from our warehouse to Amazon FBA, WMS records, box-level contents, carrier handoff, and Amazon receiving events.
  • Analyze FBA ledger data across receipts, returns, removals, disposals, and adjustments — translating Amazon reason codes into business impact.
  • Manage a structured exception queue covering shortages, misplaced units, damages, and aged variances requiring reimbursement follow-up.
  • Identify recurring failure points and partner with Warehouse and Operations to implement stronger controls and audit checks.
  • Build executive-ready dashboards for CFO, Accounting, and Operations showing dollars at risk, variance by root cause, and recovery opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Warehouse, Accounting, and Amazon Operations on data quality, process fixes, and case escalation.

🏁 What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days):

  • A repeatable reconciliation process for inbound shipments from warehouse to Amazon.
  • Weekly variance reporting quantifying unreconciled units and dollar impact by shipment, SKU, and root cause.
  • Aging buckets and escalation rules for missing, damaged, lost, and unreceived units.
  • Executive-ready reporting that drives decisions — not raw data dumps.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of Amazon FBA inventory reconciliation, operations analytics, or inventory control experience.
  • Deep understanding of FBA inbound, receiving, adjustments, removals, and common variance drivers.
  • Strong SQL skills and advanced Excel (Power Query, complex lookups, pivots).
  • Forensic attention to detail, comfort with imperfect data, and a bias toward repeatable controls over one-off analysis.
  • Strong ownership mentality.

Nice to Have

  • SP-API datasets
  • BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • High-SKU environments
  • Reimbursement workflows
  • WMS data models
🏙 You’ll be based in Symphony Towers, one of San Diego’s premier office spaces that offers:

  • Discounts at restaurants and cafes in the tower
  • Secure bike racks in the building and 24/7 paid parking in a nearby downtown structure
  • Close walking distance to 100+ of the top bars, restaurants, and coffee shops

Our office is designed for comfort, productivity, and collaboration, featuring:
  • Ergonomic standing desks and high-quality workstations
  • A fully stocked snack bar, espresso machine, and cold drinks
  • A welcoming team lounge area and sunny workspaces
  • A clean, modern space where we can do our best work together

  • Paid holidays annually
  • Coverage for spouses/domestic partners and dependents under 26

💵 Compensation Transparency
We’ve listed a broad salary range of $125,000-$150,000/year to account for varying levels of experience, skill sets, and leadership depth. Where you land in the range will depend on how your background aligns with this role.
We’re committed to compensating based on value and impact, not just years on paper, and we’re happy to have open conversations throughout the process.
📈 Growth & Career Opportunities at Luminize
At Luminize, growth isn’t just something we drive for our clients; it’s our mindset and a big priority for our people.
We offer clear career paths and leveling guidelines so you always know where you stand, what’s next, and what skills and experience you need to get there. From day one, you’ll have visibility into advancement opportunities and what it takes to grow into leadership, specialization, or other cross-functional roles.
We’re proud of our strong track record of promoting from within. Many of our team leads and
managers started in independent contributor roles and grew by consistently showing initiative,
curiosity, and impact. We only hire externally when needed, because we believe the best future
leaders are often already here.
You’ll also benefit from:
  • Mentorship from experienced managers during 1:1s and annual performance reviews
  • Cross-functional exposure to departments including content, brand management,  software, supply chain, operations, and catalog
  • Learning resources, including Udemy course access, and additional training programs and courses
  • A culture that encourages asking questions, trying new things, and leveling up together
