Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of distribution employees to achieve goals and maintain high standards of quality. This role will require a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and effective communication to drive team success. This position leads our Amazon Department on first shift, Tuesday thru Friday, 5 am to 3:30 pm.
CORE FUNCTIONS
  • Partner with the Leadership on employee scheduling, labor efficiency, work instructions, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with other area leads and supervisors to facilitate cross-training opportunities; develop employee knowledge in multiple skill sets.
  • Implement work instructions to ensure employee knowledge and accuracy is up to date.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, customer service, and shipping to monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels for all parts.
  • Effectively communicate maintenance issues and repair and replace consumables as needed.
  • Serve as a positive leader and mentor by exhibiting and instructing desirable behaviors and skill sets.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact and primary support resource for employees, functioning as the first line of defense in addressing and resolving various issues they may encounter.
  • Perform other related or non-related duties as assigned through on-the-job training.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or a combination of experience and education required.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a distribution setting with some leadership responsibilities required.
  • 3-5 years in years in a distribution setting with some leadership responsibilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience in kitting functions within a distribution center preferred.

Required Licenses
  • Ability to become certified on powered industrial equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is subject to Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Visual Acuity
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Working Conditions
