Amazon Devices and Services Fintech is the global team that designs and builds the financial planning and analysis tools for wide variety of Amazon's new and established organisations. From Kindle to Ring and even new and exciting companies like Kuiper (our new interstellar satellite play) this team enjoys a wide variety of complex and interesting problem spaces. They are almost like FinTech consultants embedded in Amazon.

Our Software Development Engineers (SDEs) use innovative technology to solve complex problems and get to see the impact of their work first-hand. As a Software Development Engineer on our team,
- You will take ownership over the technical design, implementation, production delivery and support of scalable software services, web applications and collaborate with Senior engineers on the design approaches.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews for the team
- You possess strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast paced environment.
- You are curious, never shy away from learning new technologies and use them in day-to-day work.
- You enjoy working closely with peers in a high-performing group of very smart and talented engineers.
- you have experience solving engineering problems across the full tech stack and are able to influence other teams towards the most optimal outcome.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and build scalable financial applications using Java/Python, working with business teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Develop RESTful microservices for high-volume financial transactions, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Implement financial algorithms and business logic, focusing on precise calculations and proper transaction handling.
- Create data processing pipelines using event-driven systems and databases to handle real-time financial data.
- Build automated testing frameworks using JUnit/pytest and participate in CI/CD processes.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver features while maintaining code quality standards.
- Implement monitoring solutions using logging frameworks to ensure system health.
- Contribute to distributed systems design for critical financial operations with zero downtime.
- Develop secure authentication mechanisms ensuring compliance with financial data standards.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
