Position Description:

Develops, tests, and deploys Web applications, using development technologies and test automation frameworks -- Java/J2EE, JUnit, Ruby, Cucumber, Selenium, Serenity, JavaScript/Angular, Karma, Spring, Web Services, REST, and HTTP. Analyzes existing system capabilities, provides scope estimates, and establishes system design, testing, and debugging. Works with modern Web frameworks and tools (Angular, CSS3, and Spring Boot) to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software solutions. Performs Web application development using Angular, JavaScript, Java, HTML5, CSS3, XML, and UNIX. Designs and develops Web experiences, using Web services (JSON, XML, REST, and SOAP) and Spring Boot. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing full stack applications using Angular or React, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing full stack applications using Angular or React, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing, maintaining, and enhancing full stack software applications using Java EE technologies (Angular or React, and Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Oracle SQL, Hibernate, and Microservices), DevOps tools (Jenkins, Maven, GIT, or GitHub), and IDE toolsets (IntelliJ or Eclipse); performing unit testing using Unit, Junit, and Mockito testing techniques; and developing Agile software using methodologies (Kanban or Scrum) via JIRA.
  • DE developing and maintaining Cloud-based, RESTful financial Web applications and workflows to deploy scalable client-facing applications, using Amazon Web Services (AWS), Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), and Lambdas, in conjunction with Docker; and testing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) via API Testing tools.
  • DE developing, testing, and performing Object-Oriented (OO) design and creating middle-tier applications; building configuration management for a dynamic User Interface (UI) design based upon business requirements, using Angular or React for the front end and Java Spring Boot to fetch configurations; and ensuring code quality using JaCoCo or Sonar.
  • DE supporting financial service applications for end clients in production via incidents or problem tickets; using event frameworks (Kafka or IBM MQ) for money movement transactions; and triaging production incidents in Splunk or AWS CloudWatch to resolve live client issues in a timely manner.
