Job description

Role Overview
We're looking for a strategic, performance-minded Ecommerce Manager to lead our DTC business with a founder's mindset and a growth marketer's instinct. This isn't just about keeping the lights on-it's about driving topline revenue, improving conversion, and building a smarter, more efficient shopping experience across all digital touchpoints.
You'll own site strategy and performance end-to-end: from sales forecasting and site merchandising, to collaborating closely with lifecycle, creative, and paid media teams. You're equal parts operator and strategist-fluent in data, curious about the customer, and relentless in testing and optimizing what works.
This role requires someone with a proven track record running DTC ecommerce for a high-growth consumer brand. You need to be comfortable steering the ship, influencing cross-functional teams, and pushing for performance with confidence and clarity. Above all, you'll think forward-constantly planning, testing, and deploying integrated campaigns that connect brand storytelling with measurable performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Leadership (~40%)
  • Develop and own PlanetBox's ecommerce growth plan-acquisition, retention, conversion, and AOV.
  • Build proactive quarterly and seasonal roadmaps that tie ecommerce execution to brand, product, and campaign initiatives.
  • Serve as the DTC business owner and primary stakeholder for all site-related initiatives and long-range planning.
  • Partner with marketing, brand, and paid media teams to align ecommerce goals with broader GTM strategy.
  • Forecast revenue, set weekly sales targets, and monitor performance to plan, course-correcting early.

Conversion Optimization & CX (~25%)
  • Own the end-to-end customer experience from landing page to checkout, ensuring it reflects both brand and performance best practices.
  • Lead site testing and optimization roadmap (e.g., A/B testing, personalization, bundling, UX experiments).
  • Partner with creative and product teams to evolve product discovery, PDP content, navigation, and purchase flows.
  • Leverage onsite search, filter logic, and merchandising rules to drive better product visibility and discoverability.

Integrated Marketing Deployment (~20%)
  • Orchestrate cross-channel campaign launches in the digital ecosystem, ensuring site, email, paid, and social are synchronized for maximum impact.
  • Translate brand campaigns into ecommerce experiences that drive measurable results (landing pages, bundles, offers, optimized content).
  • Partner with lifecycle and performance teams to ensure seamless post-click journeys and full-funnel consistency.
  • Lead seasonal readiness efforts (Back-to-School, Holidays, Gifting) with proactive planning, timelines, and briefs for site + channel execution.

Performance & Analytics (~10%)
  • Own ecommerce KPIs including CVR, AOV, bounce rate, ROAS (in partnership with paid team), and margin.
  • Synthesize insights from Shopify, GA4, post-purchase surveys, and heatmaps to make smart decisions and trade-offs.
  • Use data to inform hypotheses, test strategies, and create executive-level reporting on what's working and what's not.

Cross-Functional Collaboration (~5%)
  • Act as the connective tissue between PlanetBox and centralized performance media, retention, and analytics teams.
  • Brief and align creative teams on site needs, conversion-focused content, and post-click experience planning.
  • Influence product and brand planning with insights from ecommerce performance and customer behavior.

Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of ecommerce experience, with at least 3 years in a senior, revenue-owning DTC role.
  • Proven success driving growth in a consumer or lifestyle brand with a Shopify Plus tech stack.
  • Fluent in ecommerce metrics, testing methodology, and conversion rate optimization.
  • Strong communicator who can interface confidently with media buyers, retention leads, merchandisers, and executives.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Shopify Analytics, GA4, Hotjar, ContentSquare, or similar.
  • Comfortable giving input on creative briefs, product positioning, and campaign execution.
  • Strategic thinker with a get-it-done bias-can roll up sleeves when needed, but knows how to prioritize leverage.

What Success Looks Like
  • Proactive planning is visible: clear seasonal and campaign roadmaps exist, with site and channel executions fully aligned.
  • Revenue and conversion goals are hit or exceeded across key seasons (BTS, Holidays, Gifting).
  • The site evolves every quarter-not just visually, but functionally and conversion-wise.
  • Strong partnership with paid media and lifecycle teams results in higher ROAS, lower CAC, and stronger LTV.
  • Executive team sees ecommerce as a strategic growth engine, not just a storefront.

Why You'll Love This Role
  • You'll be at the center of a growing brand with passionate customers and meaningful products.
  • You'll have autonomy and visibility-and the ability to make real impact, fast.
  • You'll lead integrated marketing deployments that tie brand storytelling to performance results.
  • You'll work with a tight-knit team that moves quickly, tests often, and laughs loudly.
  • Competitive salary, benefits, flexibility, and room to grow.
