Join Amazon AIR's Network Control Center Maintenance Operations team (MXO) and shape the future of how a global fleet is maintained, optimized, and scaled.
Amazon AIR is seeking a Manager, Aircraft Maintenance Operations to drive operational excellence at the intersection of aviation expertise, AI/ML innovation, and data-driven strategy. In this role, you won't just manage maintenance operations, you'll architect the next generation of tools, processes, and best practices that keep Amazon's air network moving safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Operations team (MXO) is rapidly evolving, incorporating GenAI-powered analytics, real-time fleet health monitoring, and intelligent automation to move from reactive maintenance to predictive, insight-driven operations.
This is a rare opportunity to lead - not just use - AI-enabled transformation in aviation maintenance at global scale.
This role supports Amazon Air's 24/7 Network Control Center

Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required as business needs evolve.
Key job responsibilities
- Oversee daily maintenance operations workflow, ensuring effective communication and coordination between maintenance providers and network operations
- Manage real-time operational decisions regarding maintenance events, aircraft swaps, and recovery scenarios to minimize network disruption and maintain schedule integrity
- Develop and drive real-time fleet health monitoring strategies and technical readiness assessments for the Amazon Air global fleet
- Drive implementation of AI/ML technologies to enhance operational maintenance strategies, leveraging GenAI tools to synthesize data and surface actionable insights
- Serve as primary contact for maintenance-related communications, developing protocols to manage service impacts and customer experience
- Create data-driven strategies to maximize maintenance On-Time Performance
- Develop and document lessons learned to continually improve maintenance operations across the network
- Champion adoption of approved AI solutions within daily workflows - evaluating emerging tools, leading pilot efforts, and providing feedback that shapes continuous process improvement
A day in the life
As a Aircraft Maintenance Manager, you'll review fleet health dashboards, lead operational calls briefing stakeholders on aircraft status and recovery plans, and make real-time decisions during AOG events to protect network integrity. You'll coordinate with carrier Maintenance Control teams and external providers, analyze maintenance trends using AI-enabled tools to drive proactive strategies, and document lessons learned. Throughout the day, you're the senior voice translating complex technical situations into clear guidance - operating at the intersection of aviation expertise and emerging technology.
