Pitted Labs

Job description

***Candidates must be US-Based***

ABOUT THE COMPANY
Founded in 2016, Pitted Labs is a leading e-commerce agency that helps brands grow and win on Amazon, TikTok, DTC, and other major marketplaces. We partner with brands ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies, supporting them through critical growth phases and helping them become category leaders and #1 best sellers.
Our work spans strategy, execution, and operational support, all grounded in deep marketplace expertise and a high bar for service. We pride ourselves on working with exceptional brands, solving complex problems, and delivering results that materially impact our clients’ businesses.
Pitted’s mission is to build and serve through authentic relationships and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Every team member is expected to embody our core values: Curiosity, Entrepreneurship, Collaboration, Humor, Selflessness, and Success.
YOUR ROLE
We are looking for an Account Manager to own the day-to-day execution and client relationships across a portfolio of brands, focused on managing and growing sales on Amazon and other marketplaces. You will be the person our brands rely on to keep their accounts running sharp: advertising performance, catalog health, inventory planning, content, and everything in between. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, and it requires someone who can manage complexity across multiple accounts without dropping the ball.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own the overall performance and growth of your accounts, including advertising, in partnership with our dedicated ads team who handle hands-on campaign execution. You understand advertising well enough to speak to performance credibly with clients and to flag issues early.
  • Own the day-to-day health of client accounts: monitoring performance, flagging issues early, and proactively recommending improvements before clients have to ask.
  • Support expansion to Walmart, TikTok Shop, and other marketplaces as client needs require.
  • Manage projects across multiple clients and workstreams simultaneously. You will be juggling listing optimizations, ad launches, inventory coordination, content updates, and client communication all at once.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients. You keep them informed, set expectations clearly, and let them know they have a dedicated partner in their corner.
  • Intelligently leverage AI tools (Claude or similar) as part of your daily workflow to move faster, analyze data, draft content, and solve problems. We expect you to be fluent in working with AI, not just aware it exists. You know how to use AI as a tool, rather than a crutch.
  • Collaborate with other team members on account strategy, solving problems, and cross-functional projects.
  • Contribute to internal processes and playbooks. If you find a better way to do something, we want to hear about it.
  • Proactively identify risks, gaps, or blockers and help resolve them before they impact outcomes.
  • Account set-up, new listing creation, inventory management and forecasting.
  • Design, communicate, and execute business strategies and game plans.
  • Market research of customer products, competitors, and category dynamics.
  • Client communication via calls, emails, text messages, social channels, and occasionally in person.
WHO YOU ARE
  • You are experienced and deeply comfortable in a client-facing role. You will build strong relationships with clients and become a trustworthy through-line across their entire ecommerce ecosystem. You communicate clearly, follow up reliably, and make people feel confident that their business is in good hands.
  • Hands-on Amazon management experience is required. You understand advertising fundamentals and can speak confidently to clients about ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, and campaign strategy at a high level. Our dedicated ads team handles day-to-day campaign execution, so hands-on advertising experience is a plus rather than a requirement.
  • You're great at managing work, not just for yourself but also directing support resources and contractor help. You are organized, detail-oriented, and capable of running multiple accounts and workstreams without things falling through the cracks. You have a system and you trust it.
  • You're naturally curious with an insatiable desire to learn. E-commerce moves fast, and you are the kind of person who reads the changelog, tests new features on day one, gets news alerts when Amazon makes a sweeping change, and goes deep on topics that interest you.
  • You already use Claude or similar tools in your work to get things done faster and more efficiently. At the same time, you'd never send an email that reads like ChatGPT obviously wrote it or send its output without reviewing it first.
  • You are hungry to grow. You want to get better at this, take on more responsibility, and build real expertise. You do not need to be managed into caring about the work.
NICE TO HAVE
  • Hands-on Amazon advertising experience across Sponsored Ads and the DSP, with comfort managing campaigns and budgets.
  • Deep Amazon operations experience: Seller Central operations, catalog management, FBA logistics, A+ Content, Brand Registry.
  • Agency experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) or DSP.
  • Experience with marketplace analytics tools (MerchantSpring, Helium 10, SmartScout, Jungle Scout, or similar).
  • Background in supplements, personal care, CPG, food and beverage, electronics, safety/industrial/PPE, or other specialty and regulated categories.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience successfully managing the Amazon channel for a company or multiple brands (or other e-commerce experience).
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, direct support resources, and manage multiple priorities with a high on-time completion rate.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and video communication skills, with confidence working directly with clients.
  • Experience in agency, consulting, or service-based environments strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, spreadsheets, and basic reporting workflows.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work a hybrid work schedule in person in Portland, OR.
WHY WORK AT PITTED LABS?
  • Competitive salary
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance 100% covered for employees
  • Flexible work environment with hybrid options
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth
  • A collaborative, high-performing, and genuinely enjoyable team culture
