Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania and North Central West Virginia is a nonprofit organization that funds job training, education, and other community programs by selling donated clothing and household items in Goodwill stores and online. Goodwill SWPA Ecommerce:
The Ecommerce team manages Goodwill SWPA's participation in Goodwill's national online shopping platform, ShopGoodwill.com. This platform is the first e-commerce auction site created, owned and operated by a non-profit organization. Goodwill SWPA is one of 130 Goodwill organizations from around the United States and Canada that lists and auctions unique items on the site, including art, antiques, collectibles, apparel, jewelry, electronics and more.
Revenue from these auction sales support the Goodwill mission to help people overcome challenges in building skills, finding jobs and growing their careers through the power of work. Your purchases on ShopGoodwill.com help directly fund an array of life-changing programs and services for individuals with disabilities and other barriers, including job placement programs, vocational training, educational advancement, financial literacy, self-advocacy and more. POSITION SUMMARY:
Join our team of treasure hunters as an E-Commerce Shipping Clerk! The Treasure Hunt may include researching antiques, collectibles, and designer items as well as photographing and posting items for sale online.
What is an E-commerce Shipping Clerk at Goodwill?
  • Ship items purchased from the Shopgoodwill.com auction site.

What skills or experience does it take to be a Shipping Clerk and work with an amazing team?
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software in a timely manner.
  • The ability to pick and shelve inventory in a fast paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to securely package items for FedEx deliveries.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Prior experience with online shipping is a plus.

Status: Regular, Part-time
External Hiring Range: $15.00/hour
Schedule: 7 AM - 7 PM - Monday through Sunday, with a flexible start time and lunch break! Schedule can vary depending on department needs.
Travel: No travel required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1 year of experience required. OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent AND no experience required.
  • Must be able to effectively utilize the internet to research and find accurate information.

Preferences:
  • Prior experience with online retail merchandising, and or selling on auction sites.

REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Candidates will be subject to background checks and clearances designated by Goodwill SWPA as relevant to this position.
