Important Location Information

The Rowlett facility has not yet officially opened. Until it becomes operational, employees hired for Rowlett positions will report to the Bonham facility.

Employees will receive a temporary$2.00-per-hour commute differentialwhile working in Bonham. This differential will end when the employee transitions to reporting to the Rowlett facility.

Job Summary

Snelling is recruiting an experienced Brake Press Operator for a skilled, direct-hire opportunity with a growing sheet metal manufacturing company. This position requires previous brake press experience and the ability to independently set up and operate equipment while consistently meeting production and quality standards.

Following a successful interview, selected candidates may begin employment immediately, pending successful completion of the required background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate brake press machines to produce sheet metal parts according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, travelers, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Select, install, and verify the proper tooling for each production run.
  • Complete machine setups, adjustments, and changeovers as required.
  • Apply proper bending techniques to produce accurate, defect-free parts.
  • Maintain efficient production output while meeting quality standards.
  • Use appropriate measuring tools to inspect finished parts and verify specifications.
  • Complete and document required quality inspections.
  • Accurately complete production and maintenance documentation.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and document completed activities.
  • Identify and report equipment, tooling, quality, or documentation issues.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to support production goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous brake press setup and operation experience is required.
  • Sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience selecting, installing, and setting up brake press tooling.
  • Ability to use measuring tools to verify part dimensions and quality.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work required overtime.
  • Ability to report to the Bonham facility until the Rowlett location officially opens.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, and handle materials throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery in a manufacturing environment.
