Job description

Job Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Roll Shop Technician supports Roll Shop goals to provide plant operations with quality built ready to use roll sets focusing on accuracy and precision.
Responsibilities:
  • Supply and maintain required personnel tools
  • Follow specific daily work assignments
  • Self-motivated to maintain a safe and clean work area/ environment
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedule for critical equipment
  • Fluent in the use of basic measurement equipment
  • Maintain records in roll shop management software
  • Safe operation of overhead crane and mobile equipment
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
  • Accurate and efficient communication between leadership and supported departments
  • Recognize defective components and replace like in kind parts ensuring ready to use roll sets
  • Maintain a flexible schedule working holidays, weekends and evening shifts as scheduled
  • Follow standard operating and maintenance procedures
  • Attentive to detail ensuring job steps are completed accurately
  • Test, replace and repair hydraulic cylinders
  • Adhere to skill base pay progression guidelines

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required with 2 years minimum experience in a high paced industrial setting
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability to maintain, repair or replace components, devises and parts using hand or power tools
  • Demonstrated ability to inspect and install bearing cylinders, seals and fittings
  • Demonstrated ability to operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Preventive Maintenance familiarity - condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, proactive maintenance

The plant has ~1,200 employees and more than 100 acres under room, including five casting units, hot and cold rolling mills, and a slitting and finishing center. Muscle Shoals produces aluminium sheet for use in all three components of beverage cans (body stock, coated end stock, tab stock) and has the capacity to produce over 1 billion pounds per year of finished aluminium coils. The plant also produces aluminium automotive coils to be processed at our CALP line in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
