Senior Underwriter (MCA / Alternative Finance)
Onsite near Red Bank, NJ | Base $90,000-$120,000 | OTE $150,000-$180,000
Introduction
Craft Recruiting has partnered with a rapidly growing, well-established alternative financing company to hire a Senior Underwriter. The team has tremendous deal flow and is growing their Underwriting Team. They need someone who can price confidently, move fast and drive deals through final underwriting to funding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Price and underwrite small business financing opportunities across a broad credit box.
  • Own deals through final underwriting, including re-review of bank data, verification, background review, and funding readiness.
  • Work directly with merchants to gather stipulations and keep deals moving.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure speed, decision quality, and clean execution from offer to funding.
Performance expectation: An ideal candidate can consistently price ~25 deals/day and handle ~8 final underwrites/day in a high-volume environment.
What We're Looking For
Experience
  • 5+ years underwriting MCA / revenue-based financing and/or small business loans in a high-volume setting
  • Strong track record pricing deals (not just following automated outputs)
  • Comfortable owning decisions and moving files quickly with urgency
Skills
  • Strong bank statement/cash flow analysis and risk instincts
  • Ability to balance competitiveness with credit discipline
  • Excellent merchant-facing communication and customer service
  • High pace, high accountability, low-ego team style
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred (Finance/Accounting/Business/Math). Equivalent experience is fine.
Location
Onsite near Red Bank, NJ (Monmouth County / Jersey Shore-Bayshore region; commuter-friendly area with Client access to NYC).
Common commutable areas include Matawan/Aberdeen, Holmdel/Lincroft, Middletown/Atlantic Highlands, Keyport/Union Beach, and surrounding towns.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base: $90,000-$120,000 (DOE)
