Attorney - Civil Litigation
Established (45+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Litigation Attorney for Commercial and Civil Litigation in Woodbridge, VA!
 
An established firm based in Woodbridge, VA with over 45 years in practice is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3-8 years of experience to join their team in a hybrid work arrangement. 
 
This Attorney will have experience with complex commercial and business litigation, contract disputes, land use litigation, construction litigation, employment litigation, real estate disputes, eminent domain matters, and alternative dispute resolution, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations while representing businesses, developers, property owners, lenders, and individuals in litigation, arbitration, and advisory matters.

Salary range: $150,000-$230,000+, contingent on experience

Qualifications
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Active membership in the Virginia State Bar or ability to waive in promptly
3-8 years of civil litigation experience in state and federal courts
Experience handling complex commercial litigation and contract disputes
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and dispositive motions
Ability to manage cases from inception through resolution
Experience conducting depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances
Strong oral advocacy and negotiation skills
Ability to develop and maintain client relationships
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
Strong academic credentials and attention to detail
Commitment to delivering exceptional client service
 
Responsibilities
Represent businesses, developers, property owners, lenders, and individuals in a broad range of commercial and civil litigation matters
Handle complex contract disputes, business tort claims, ownership and governance disputes, and commercial collection matters
Manage litigation involving land use, zoning, real estate, title, boundary, easement, covenant, and landlord-tenant disputes
Represent clients in construction law matters, mechanic's lien claims, bond claims, and related disputes
Handle condemnation and eminent domain cases on behalf of property owners and other interested parties
Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation documents
Conduct legal research and develop case strategy designed to achieve client objectives efficiently
Take and defend depositions, participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
Appear before Virginia state courts, federal courts, administrative bodies, and appellate courts
Advise clients regarding litigation risk, dispute resolution strategies, and business-related legal concerns
Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's land use, zoning, real estate, and transactional practices to provide comprehensive legal solutions
Support business development initiatives and cultivate long-term client relationships throughout Virginia's business and development communities
