Job description

What Your Day Will Look Like:

As the TPD Area Principal you'll be a leader in program and project delivery while providing technical solutions to some of our client's biggest infrastructure challenges. You will plan and direct the project lifecycle from proposal phase, through project execution and delivery are adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds corporate project excellence and delivery standards. Provide strategy and leadership to develop new clients and services while strengthening our existing clients and services across the region.

What You'll Do:

Lead and manage the delivery of transportation programs and projects, overseeing all aspects of project lifecycle. Oversee the preparation of scope, schedule, and budgets for projects. Develop and present complex technical solutions to clients, demonstrating innovative problem-solving abilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes. Interface with clients and be a principalin BD efforts and lead pursuits to win projects, coordinating closely with other local leaders. Ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements and are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements and corporate objectives. Collaborate with management to determine long-range plans and objectives, including recommendations on project staffing, evaluating and mentoring of subordinate staff. Manage programs or projects and maintain schedule, budget, and profitability of assigned projects. Coordinating with internal and external clients and fortify long-term client/contractor relationships. Contribute with other leaders to advance our alternative delivery capabilities in TN.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in TN or ability to obtain PE within 6 months.
  • 15 years of experience in transportation engineering and project management.
  • Proven record of successfully leading and managing complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, with experience in client-facing roles
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Alternative Delivery experience is a plus.

You will engage in:ย 

  • Various roles of development and oversight with our top clients, TDOT, NDOT, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and various other clients.
  • Assist or direct BD activities for the expansion of services and clients, TDOT and municipalities.
  • Frequently Mentor staff with best principles for project delivery, management and client development.
