Could you be the full-time Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager in Newark,NJ we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your EHS expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside a collaborative and proactive team of professionals, committed to excellence and innovation.

You'll have a meaningful impact by creating a safe and healthy environment for our people and contractors while minimizing environmental footprints and safeguarding Alstom's assets. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams across the business (such as project management, HR, and operational teams), implement emergency plans, and ensure compliance with EHS standards and regulations, among other responsibilities.

You'll specifically take care of preparing and maintaining EHS training plans and monitoring compliance with statutory and company requirements, but also supporting EHS project staffing and leading audits to ensure adherence to EHS plans.

We'll look to you for:

  • Ensuring EHS Risk Assessment is completed and control measures are defined for projects

  • Developing and implementing emergency plans at the project level

  • Monitoring and controlling subcontractor activities to ensure EHS compliance

  • Providing coaching and assessment for EHS teams in projects

  • Supporting EHS staffing and delivering EHS support during project execution

  • Ensuring Alstom EHS standards and tools are deployed at the project level

  • Preparing and submitting EHS reports, ensuring data quality and compliance

  • Investigating and analyzing incidents, and sharing lessons learned through REX reports

  • Building and implementing EHS communication and training plans

  • Monitoring historical pollution and associated risks

  • University degree in Engineering or Business

  • Health & Safety qualification recognized by local authorities (mandatory)

  • Experience or understanding of EHS practices in projects (minimum 3 years)

  • Good knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards

  • Deep understanding of local legal EHS requirements

  • Teamwork and leadership skills

  • Strong communication and analytical thinking skills

  • Proficiency in using computer tools and continuous improvement methodologies

  • EHS auditor certification (desirable)

  • Experience in the railway industry is a plus
