SUMMARY: This position is responsible for using internal operating and conveyor belt systems for organizing, packaging, and shipping daily orders to customers in a timely manner according to scheduled delivery company pick-up times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Place identification label on boxes.
  • Sort orders based on numeric numbering system on order label.
  • Work with other members in the shipping department in an assembly line fashion to scan, check and box orders specifically to any packaging or shipping requirements, if any, before placing them on the conveyor belt system for final packaging.
  • Sort, stack and wrap finished boxed product for third party pick-up.
  • Package internet orders based on customer specifications.
  • Make and stock cardboard boxes as needed.
  • Refill bubble wrap stations and machines.
  • Clean workstation and remove trash as necessary.
  • Regular attendance and compliance with the Company's handbook policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Individuals working in this position must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, stretch, reach, carry, push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds for jewelry shipping and up to 50 pounds for gift shipping.
  • Use of fine motor skills.
  • See small objects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The performance of this position will require the position to work in a temperature-controlled warehouse, which is located in a secure area of the building. Warehouse conditions include temperatures that me be hot or cool at certain times, dust and dirt from packages, and noise volume may vary from fans, forklifts, conveyor belts, and warehouse machinery. Individuals working in the "secure area" must follow the Company's Secure Area Dress Code and Security policies and procedures. All clothing must be free from metal, and no metal may be worn into the secure area of the building. Any metal inside or outside the body due to a medical condition must be visually inspected, or reasonable accommodations may be made.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Part-time hours average between 12-28 hours per week. General hours are 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. or when the job is complete with flexibility on number of days per week. Additional hours and Saturday hours may be required during season or peak business times.
TRAVEL: No travel is required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: None required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Prior work record or warehouse experience.
