Job description

Are you passionate about investing, building meaningful client relationships, and collaboration? Coldstream is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join its NE Portland team and play a key role in shaping investment strategy, managing sophisticated client portfolios, and mentoring the next generation of investment professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact within an employee-owned firm that values thoughtful advice, exceptional client service, and long-term relationships.

Arnerich Massena was founded in 1991 and specialized in providing portfolio management, investment advisory, and family office services for high-net-worth individuals, families, endowments, and foundations. The company was known for investing with vision, passion, and purpose, with a focus on both client service and community commitment. In July 2024, Arnerich Massena merged with Coldstream. Located in NE Portland, the team is now adding a Portfolio Manager position.

We have a hybrid work environment, with team members working in our office three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00-5:00) and then able to work remotely the other two days if they choose.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Serve on the firm's Investment Strategy Group (ISG), providing input on strategic and tactical asset allocation guidelines for portfolios firm-wide, including:
    • Conducting due diligence on separate account managers
    • Researching a range of investment vehicles
    • Making recommendations on which to include on the firm's list of recommended investments for use in client portfolios
  • Client asset management, including development of investment policy statements and asset allocation recommendations, as well as implementation and ongoing management of client investment portfolios
  • Oversee trading and rebalancing of client portfolios
  • Develop operational processes and trading efficiencies
  • Review and analyze portfolio returns and attribution to make recommendations for changes to portfolios
  • Participate in client and prospective client meetings to answer portfolio-related questions, discuss Coldstream's investment philosophy, and share new investment opportunities
  • Compose timely investment commentary for clients and client-facing team members
  • Mentor and develop a team of Associate PM and Portfolio Administrator
