Overview
 
To maximize the sales of supplier brands to the trade and consumer through effective territory planning, selling, merchandising, and communicating that permits achievement of company and supplier goals. The sales rep will be working in Central Jersey. It is preferred that the incumbent has 2+ years of sales experience.
 
Responsibilities
 
Preparation and Planning
A sales representative (SR) is required to plan times and activities toward achieving of Company and supplier volume, distribution, promoting displays, and shelf/cold box management and merchandising goals within the assigned accounts and, in on-premise accounts, wine list promotions, drink lists, food menu marketing, and back bar merchandising goals
 
Selling
A SR is required to deliver sales presentations toward achieving Company goals (e.g. brand building goals) and supplier goals (e.g. quotas) and to utilize all marketing and promotional opportunities available to ensure sell through and continued sales of the Company product line
 
Supplier/Supervisory Interaction
A SR is required to familiarize himself/herself with all suppliers and their brands aimed at achieving positive consumer reaction
 
Recordkeeping and Communicating
A SR is required to maintain account records in accordance with published Company policies and procedures
 
Miscellaneous
A SR acknowledges and represents that:
1. All records and surveys submitted by him/her shall not be intentionally falsified.
2. He/she shall adhere to all federal, state, local laws, rules and regulations.
3. The failure to meet the requirements of the job responsibilities will result in progressive disciplinary action; where appropriate , up to and including discharge. All disciplinary and discharge actions taken by the Company shall be in writing, with copies forwarded to the SK and to the Union.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Proficient PC, iPad and MS Office skills
  • Must be a detail and results-oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • At least 2 years account selling experience, industry experience preferred
Compensation and Benefits
 
This is a commission-based role, with earnings typically ranging from 4% to 5% of product sales, depending on the product category. Total compensation will vary based on individual sales performance.
 
This is a union position and is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Benefits such as medical coverage, retirement plan, and paid time off are provided in accordance with the terms outlined in the agreement.
