Job description

We are seeking an experienced Welder Foreman to become an integral part of our manufacturing team! This position is responsible for welding, fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal products and components while leading and supervising a crew in a fast-paced production environment.


Working Schedule: 6:00am-2:30pm Mon-Fri


This is a Foreman Classification union position with SMART Local 105 Sheet Metal Workers. Union benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents at no cost to employee (available after union probation period is complete). Union members are not eligible to receive vacation, sick, or holiday pay.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of a welding crew
  • Assign work tasks and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
  • Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, or other welding processes as required
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal products and structures
  • Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
  • Cut, grind, bevel, and prepare materials for welding
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
  • Train and mentor team members on welding procedures, safety practices, and quality standards
  • Use hand and power tools including grinders, saws, torches, and measuring equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and quality standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years previous welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience leading, supervising, or running a welding or fabrication crew required
  • Experience with MIG welding required; TIG and Stick welding experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
