This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Manufacturing Plant in Indianapolis, Indiana.


Scope:

  • Installs, maintains and repairs electrical circuits, electric motors, manufacturing equipment, etc.
  • Depending on work location, scope is either construction/utility based or supports manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Maintaining electrical standards of excellence.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, maintain, and test manufacturing plant electrical systems.
  • Use industry related hand tools and power tools.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, etc. and install wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceways.
  • Feed to, pull into, and terminate wire and cable within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, switch gears.
  • Splice and terminate wires at junction points.
  • Troubleshoot equipment electrical systems.
  • Assist with training Electrician Helper.
  • Communicate effectively with Supervisor and crew members.
  • Install and maintain all plant and distribution center high bay lighting and office lighting.
  • Maintain workflow schedule to ensure all Plant productivity objectives are met.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues.
  • Adhere to all Heartland FPG safety and quality policies and procedures.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must hold a current Journeyman Wireman license or 5+ years industry experience.
  • Ability to install 3 phase power systems
  • Ability to build and install control panels and provide maintenance to systems.
  • Experience using Electrical Single Line blueprints.
  • Experience finding and repairing faults in electrical apparatus and circuits.
  • Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations.
  • Experience helping with the management of a project and crew.
  • Ability to manage material estimates.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and pre-planning abilities.
  • Ability to work with 120VAC to 480VAC 3 phase electrical systems

Physical Demands:

  • Physical Demands: The employee may require the ability to do the following:
  • Lift 50 lbs from ground and pull 50 lbs of force.
  • Perform ladder climbing, wire pulling and conduit pulling.
  • Fully squat, stoop or kneel.
  • Maintain a standing position for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions.
  • Work off ladders, man lifts or reach booms
  • Working Environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to:
    1. A variety of weather conditions including cold, snow, rain, heat, etc.
    2. High noise levels
    3. Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center.
    4. May be required to work with high voltage electricity.
    5. Must possess visual acuity to document company records.
    6. Must be able to work extended hours, such as possible daily overtime and an occasional weekend
