JOB TITLE: Field Inspector


EMPLOYER: Telgian Corporation 

 

DEPARTMENT: Field Inspections


REPORTS TO: Regional Field Supervisor

 

EFFECTIVE DATE: 8/27/2026 

 

SUMMARY: Field Inspector must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out Fire sprinkler, alarm and pump testing through instructions furnished in written or oral form, for assigned customer locations. Must have a strong attention to detail in addition to successfully contending with several variables in inspection and testing situations. Will require excellent verbal/written communication and composure skills while effectively communicating with customers, building and jurisdiction officials, peer inspectors and management personnel. This position is classified as a Safety Sensitive position.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures Safety of Job #1. Adheres to all company policies, procedures & Environmental Health & Safety standards.
  • Capable of conducting inspections independently
  • Perform fire alarm and sprinkler system tests and surveys; generate final report on status and recommendations.
  • Communicate all changes in status on assigned work orders to Support Services.
  • Interfaces with internal customers and external customers (as requested) to resolve conflicts relating to survey and report deliverables.
  • Ensures inspections reports are completed accurately and on-time using Mobiliti; all IVR and payroll time entries are made on time and accurately.
  • Identifies ways to improve productivity and quality in the delivery of our product/service.
  • Identify ways to reduce cost in the delivery of our product/service.
  • Identify training programs that could improve technical knowledge of the field staff and present these to the Lead Field Engineer.
  • Maintain test equipment in good working order and make requests for replacement or acquisition of damaged or non-issued tools.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: As required by Jurisdiction
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite
