To thrive as an Alignment Tech, you need a solid understanding of automotive systems, mechanical aptitude, and often a high school diploma or equivalent with specialized training in wheel alignment. Familiarity with alignment machines, diagnostic software, and tools such as lifts and calibration equipment is crucial. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication with customers and team members help set top performers apart. These skills ensure precise vehicle alignment, customer satisfaction, and workplace efficiency in a technical automotive environment.

How much do alignment techs make?

Alignment technicians typically earn an average annual salary of around $40,000 to $55,000, depending on experience, certifications, and location. In California, wages tend to be higher due to the cost of living and demand for automotive service skills.

What are some common challenges faced by Alignment Techs when working with advanced vehicle systems?

Alignment Techs often encounter challenges when servicing modern vehicles equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), as these systems require precise calibration after any alignment adjustments. Staying up-to-date with the latest alignment technology and manufacturer specifications is essential to ensure both safety and optimal performance. Additionally, Alignment Techs frequently collaborate with service advisors and other technicians to diagnose issues and communicate repair needs to customers. Embracing ongoing training and adaptability is key to succeeding in this evolving field.

What are Alignment Techs?

Their primary role is to ensure that a car’s wheels are properly aligned, which helps to improve vehicle handling, extend tire life, and enhance overall driving safety. Alignment Techs use specialized equipment to diagnose alignment issues and perform necessary adjustments. They may also inspect suspension and steering systems for wear or damage. This job typically requires technical training and strong attention to detail.

Job description

The Principal Architect role is a critical enabler for aligning Baptist Health's business strategy with the evolving technology landscape across the enterprise. As the organization pursues digital transformation, data modernization, AI and operational efficiency, the Principal Architect will be pivotal in ensuring every technology investment is strategically connected to business outcomes. This role is responsible for navigating a complex technical environment that includes Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, and on-premises systems to enhance patient care, clinical effectiveness, and organizational agility.

Candidates with prior experience in healthcare or regulated industries are strongly preferred.

What You will Do

  • Lead through influence: Operate as an architect and strategic influencer to executive and domain leaders, helping align technology investments with business outcomes.

  • Foster Collaboration: Build partnerships with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Security teams to co-own outcomes, not dictate them.

  • Mentor and Inspire: Coach solution architects across federated domains to raise the bar on architecture quality, reusability, and scalability.

  • Communicate and Influence: Translate architectural strategy into compelling business narratives that resonate with executive audiences and technical teams alike.

  • Balance Short-Term Delivery with Long-Term Strategy: Facilitate informed trade-offs, track technical debt decisions, and ensure alignment with enterprise objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain an enterprise-wide architecture blueprint that links business capabilities, clinical workflows, data, and systems to Baptist Health's strategy for improving patient care and future business growth across a hybrid, multi-cloud environment.

  • Function as a key liaison between business leaders, clinical stakeholders, and technology teams, with a proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts to senior executives and both technical and non-technical leaders.

  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps, standards, and reference architectures.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors to support innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Actively support the architecture of cutting-edge data and AI systems to drive innovation.

  • Embed governance into the design of Baptist Health's digital ecosystems so that interoperability, security, compliance, and resilience are engineered in from the outset.

Degrees:

  • Bachelors.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Strongly prefer a minimum of 15 years of experience in IT with 6 years of experience as a Solution or Enterprise Architect for multiple domains (preferably Enterprise Architect)
  •  Deep understanding of governance framework and ARB (Architecture Review Board) operations.
  •  Experience developing and managing architecture taxonomies, patterns, and standards.
  •   Proven ability to align architecture with strategic objectives and OKRs.
  •   Hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), API-led integration, security-by-design, and data architecture principles.
  •   Experience integrating emerging platforms or modernizing legacy systems at scale.
  •   Demonstrated ability to lead cross-domain architectural initiatives and guide decision processes.
  •   Broad and deep knowledge across multiple technology disciplines, including security, infrastructure, data, and AI.
  • Exceptional storyteller who can articulate the "why" behind architectural decisions and direction in simple, business-relevant terms.
  • Strong understanding of business strategy, clinical workflows, and healthcare technology landscape.

Highly Preferred:

  • Exposure to AI/ML enablement or data-driven architecture patterns
  • Proven experience with large-scale digital transformation, data modernization, and cloud migration projects.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Expertise with enterprise architecture tools (e.g., tools like LeanIX or ServiceNow)

Minimum Required Experience: 10 Years
