Job description

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Pinon Hills, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Pinon Hills, CA

Details:

  • In-Person Tutoring in Pinon Hills, CA
  • Schedule: 16 hours, 4 sessions a week for 1.25 hours
  • Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced Special Education (SPED) tutor or credentialed instructor with strong background in supporting students with dysgraphia and learning differences.
  • Skilled in ELA instruction, including grammar, sentence structure, written expression, decoding multisyllable words, and spelling.
  • Familiar with Orton-Gillingham or Wilson instructional methods is highly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in Algebra 1 concepts and able to provide clear, step-by-step guidance.
  • Strong organizational skills to support executive functioning, including task management, binder maintenance, and structured study routines.
  • Patient, engaging, and able to motivate students while redirecting behaviors in a calm and consistent manner.
  • Creative in integrating student interests (e.g., soccer, video games, animals) into lessons to increase engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction in ELA, focusing on grammar, sentence structure, written expression, reading fluency, decoding, and spelling.
  • Support the student in Algebra 1, reinforcing concepts and problem-solving strategies.
  • Implement Orton-Gillingham or Wilson methods for reading and spelling as appropriate.
  • Strengthen executive functioning skills, including organization, task initiation, and homework completion.
  • Adapt lessons to student interests to maintain engagement and motivation.
  • Monitor progress and communicate updates with caregivers or educational staff as appropriate.
  • Maintain a structured, patient, and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
