Job description

What you'll get:

Givens Aldersgate a nonprofit life plan community in Charlotte NC, works to help our independent living residents that want to age with choices and remain in their home, where they’re most comfortable. As an In-Home Aide and Companion, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know your clients one-on-one, helping them live a healthy, happy and safe life at home. We’re looking for PRN In-Home Aides and Companions (less than 20hrs per week) to float -7a-3p, 3p -11p or 7p – 7a with weekend shifts required.

What you'll do:

  • Offer companionship by joining clients on walks or accompanying them on visits
  • Assist and perform tasks delegated by Campus and Home Care nurses to support clients with their ADLs and IADLs
  • Assist Home Care clients with activities such as shopping, transportation to appointments and daily tasks that do not require extensive "hands on" care
  • Support clients with household management tasks, such as caring for their pets, closet organization, light housekeeping, etc.
  • Communicate changes in a resident’s condition to the nurse on duty
  • Maintain chart documentation, and utilize applicable software to do so
  • Always practice safety and infection control methods
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of any PHI per HIPAA requirements
  • Participate in ongoing education and training
  • Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor

What you'll need:

  • High School or GED equivalent is preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Experience in home care, home health, geriatrics or LTC (Preferred)
  • Ability to travel frequently, with an active driver's license
  • Active CPR certificate or willingness to obtain with six months of joining the team

Compensation is $15.00-$16.00 per hour based on experience, plus shift differentials!

It's kind of a long story, but at our core, we're a senior housing organization with a lot of heart and committed to providing housing to seniors of all socioeconomic backgrounds across WNC for more than 40 years. We already have five communities (three life plan communities and two affordable communities) with plans for many more in the coming years.
