Job Title
Coordinator, Clinical and Virtual Laboratories
Essential Job Functions
  • Manages routine and day-to-day operational activities of the skills and virtual laboratories
  • Collaborates with Nursing Administration and others to promote student learning activities throughout the programs' curricula
  • Participates in and contributes to a safe environment in the laboratories by keeping current with safety regulations; establishing, updating, and maintaining safety regulations within the laboratories; checking and maintain safety equipment; and providing training and reinforcement of safety regulations for all individuals who access the laboratories
  • Facilitates student learning opportunities through flexible scheduling of laboratory hours
  • Supports the faculty in the utilization of instructional methods that promote students' development of critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, clinical competency, and lifelong learning
  • Initiates development of policies and procedures for utilization of laboratories
  • Works with faculty to develop skilled protocols as new equipment becomes available
  • Serves as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation activities
  • Other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications
Associate degree in Nursing
Unencumbered license to practice registered nursing in Mississippi or eligibility to apply for Mississippi licensure
Two (2) years' current professional clinical nursing practice
Two (2) years' experience in organization and management
Unencumbered license to practice registered nursing in Mississippi or eligibility to apply for Mississippi licensure
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong nursing knowledge
Knowledge of equipment and the latest nursing technologies
Operating knowledge of supply ordering and receiving/processing equipment and supplies
Knowledge of the concepts of innovation and excellence in nursing education
Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal
Advanced technology expertise
Ability to set priorities on own initiative
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to accommodate change
