Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Instructor- Alcorn Career and Technology Center
Education
  • Applicant must have earned a two-year college degree (associate degree) or higher from an accredited institution of higher education or hold a valid standard five-year renewable CTE license in the Construction Career Pathway.

Occupational Experience
  • Applicant with an associate degree must have at least two years of verifiable occupational experience in the past ten years.
  • Applicant with a bachelor or higher degree must have at least one year of verifiable occupational experience in the past ten years.
  • Experience must be appropriate to the subject being taught.

Requirements upon employment
  • Applicant must complete the NTI (New Teacher Induction) program. (Exception: Teachers that have a currently valid five-year license or have completed an alternate route program do not have to complete NTI.)
  • Applicant must complete the Certification of Online Learning workshop and obtain a passing score on a Technology Assessment approved by the Mississippi Department of Education.
  • Applicant must complete the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Methods Course approved by the Mississippi Department of Education.
  • Applicant must complete the individualized professional development plan (PDP)

requirements.
  • Applicant must earn the required score on the NCCER Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician assessment.
