Alcon is looking to hire a Senior CNC Machinist/Programmer team member. This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes. The Sr. Associate, General Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for analyzing technology trends, designing and modifying processes, and resolving engineering issues to enhance team performance and operational efficiency.
This role is on-site in our Lake Forest, CA location and a typical day would include:
  • Perform specialized technical tasks and conduct research to optimize project outcome
  • Design new processes and modify existing ones to improve efficiency.
  • Evaluate and resolve issues related to manufacturing, design, quality, and material engineering.
  • Develop test procedures, estimate costs, and plan and execute projects while managing project and operational budgets and supervising contractors.
  • Establish engineering standards and budgetary controls.
  • Introduce new or modified equipment, tools, software, and systems.
  • Collaborate with others to assess engineering feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and customer demand.
  • Make informed decisions within the scope of assigned tasks.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail, effective communication, and task management skills.
  • Adhere to GxP regulations by following SOPs, maintaining documentation, and ensuring quality control.
  • Meet individual job requirements and contribute to organizational compliance.
  • Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory complianceAll associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
  • Knowledge of MasterCam 2022 or later.
  • Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.
