Description **Please read the required certificates, licenses, and Registrations section before applying** This classification is a safety-sensitive position as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations and/or the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act. As a safety-sensitive classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening.

Possession of a medical marijuana certification will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Performs a variety of unskilled labor and maintenance work in the construction, operation, repair maintenance and replacement of City water, sewer, street and storm drainage facilities and systems May operate a variety of tools and equipment on a limited basis Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Helps perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to Supervisors and cleans equipment.

2. Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. 3.

Performs required labor involving in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew , including pavement cutting, ditch digging, manhole and line cleaning, main and pipe. 4. Helps cut, fit, lay, repair, tap, clean and flush water mains, pipes, gates and fittings on repair of mains and services, fire hydrants and drinking fountains, assist in shutting off broken sections of water mains.

5. Helps services water supply, sewer lift and other pumps. 6.

Performs routine grounds and building maintenance. 7. Helps contact residents and business owners in area where services will be disconnected and explains when services will be shut off and how soon it will be turned on.

8. May operate a variety of power construction and maintenance equipment used in the water,. 9.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Typical Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Oklahoma CDL Class B License Water and Wastewater Operator Class D License - you will have 6 month to obtain this license
