Job description

Join a Growing Manufacturing Company Where HR Has a Seat at the Table

Alco Designs is seeking a hands-on, people-focused Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations across our multi-location manufacturing environment. This is a highly visible onsite leadership role where youโ€™ll partner directly with plant leadership to support employees, strengthen culture, improve processes, and help drive operational success.
Weโ€™re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building relationships on the production floor, and can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution. If you enjoy being a true business partnerโ€”not just an administratorโ€”weโ€™d love to meet you.
What Youโ€™ll Do
Employee Relations & HR Leadership
  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and supervisors across multiple locations
  • Provide coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, and employee relations support
  • Guide performance management, corrective actions, and policy interpretation
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable workplace culture
  • Partner closely with plant leadership on workforce and operational needs
Recruiting & Talent Development
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing priorities and hiring strategies
  • Coordinate onboarding and new hire orientation
  • Support employee training and workforce planning initiatives
Payroll & Benefits Administration
  • Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Administer employee benefits and leave programs
  • Partner with payroll and benefit vendors to resolve employee issues
  • Ensure compliance with California wage and hour regulations
Compliance, Safety & Workersโ€™ Compensation
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and California employment laws
  • Maintain HR records, reporting, and policy documentation
  • Support OSHA compliance, safety initiatives, and training programs
  • Manage workersโ€™ compensation claims and return-to-work processes
  • Promote a proactive culture of workplace safety
What Weโ€™re Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within manufacturing, industrial, or production environments
  • Strong knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance
  • Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Experience with ADP Run or ADP Workforce Now
  • Proven success handling employee relations and workplace investigations
  • Experience supporting safety programs and workersโ€™ compensation
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Ability to work onsite full-time and travel periodically between locations
Preferred Strengths
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work effectively with both hourly and salaried teams
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
Why Join Alco Designs?

This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a company where collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement matter.
