ALBEMARLE COUNTY SERVICE AUTHORITY
HAS THE FOLLOWING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE I
The Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA), a public water and wastewater utility serving the greater Albemarle area, is seeking a qualified Customer Service Representative. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assisting customers in person, by phone, and via email with billing inquiries, service requests, account changes, payment options, rates, and water consumption concerns; processing customer payments, new service applications, service cancellations, deposits, and refunds; generating bills, notices, reports, adjustments, and work orders; reviewing meter reading data and assisting with high-consumption and leak-related inquiries; supporting collection activities and payment arrangements; dispatching personnel for service calls and emergencies via radio communication; and maintaining accurate customer records, files, and departmental inventories. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, sound judgment, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Qualified Candidates will possess:
  • Graduation from high school (GED considered)
  • 3 or more years of job-related experience
  • Considerable experience in MS Office Programs; utility billing experience a plus
  • Experience in an office setting with extensive public contact and general knowledge of standard office methods and procedures
  • The ability to work as a team in meeting daily deadlines.

Hiring Salary Range: $52,745 - $63,294
