Job description

HAS THE FOLLOWING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE:
ELECTRICIAN TECHNICIAN
Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Facilities Supervisor, the Electrician Technician performs difficult technical and skilled work in the maintenance and repair of pumps, electric motors, controls and electronic instrumentation of water and sewer pump stations, and related work as required. This position also performs routine plumbing and electrical work as necessary to repair, replace or rework existing facilities, and is required to report during emergencies. Employee is expected to be available to respond, when, for pump station issues and other emergencies, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Duties Include: Routine maintenance including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, and generators, and routine maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment, and HVAC equipment; Technical work such as programming and adjusting controls at pump stations to increase efficiency of equipment, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment; Training personnel in safety and ensuring that safety policies and standards are followed; Training and mentoring Pump Technician and filling in for Facilities Supervisor in their absence; Assisting other departments with facility-related issues, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, or equivalent, and five or more years of job-related experience; Thorough knowledge of repair and maintenance of mechanical devices, motors, and electronic instruments used in the water and sewer industry, as well as equipment used in the electrical trade; Commonwealth of Virginia Drivers License with a Class A and Tankers endorsement; Journeyman or Master Electrician Certification through the Commonwealth of Virginia, Confined Space Entry Supervisor, Virginia Flaggers Certification, 16-Hour Asbestos Worker Certification, Valid Class 5 Waterworks License, Underground Storage Tank Operator, NIMMS Training, First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
Hiring Range $63,124 - $75,748
